Put Pancake on your home screen
It opens straight into the room with no address bar, so you never have to go looking for the link again. It takes about ten seconds and there is nothing to download.
iPhone and iPad
- 1Check you’re in Safari — Add to Home Screen only exists there. If you opened this from a message, open pancake.watch in Safari first.
- 2Tap the share button at the bottom of the screen.
- 3Scroll down the list that slides up — it is further down than you expect.
- 4Tap Add to Home Screen, then Add.
The first time you open it from the icon it will ask you to sign in once more. That is an iPhone thing — the icon keeps its own sign-in — and it only happens once.
Android
- 1Tap the ⋮ menu at the top right of the screen.
- 2Tap Install and create shortcut. Depending on your version of Chrome it may say Install app or Add to Home screen instead.
- 3If you’re given a choice, pick Install — not Create shortcut.
- 4Confirm, and Pancake lands on your home screen.
If you opened this from a message and the menu has no such option, tap Open in Chrome first.
A shortcut on its own just opens Chrome again, address bar and all — Install is the one that gives you the app. You stay signed in either way.
Nothing is installed from an app store and nothing takes up space on your phone. It is the same Pancake, with the browser’s address bar out of the way.
